Job Overview: The Pension Benefit Administration Officer plays a critical role within the Department of Finance at WHO, ensuring that the financial management framework meets the organization's needs. This position is responsible for verifying and approving separation files, ensuring the accuracy of benefit estimates, and reconciling contributions and pension accounts. The officer acts as a focal point for resolving issues related to separation files and contributes to the overall management of pension benefits for WHO staff. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. The officer will also engage in team meetings and propose improvements to processes, making it essential for the candidate to have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify and approve separation files prepared by team members, ensuring correctness of benefit estimates and reconciliation of contributions and pension accounts.
Enter necessary details and comments in WHO systems related to separation processes.
Act as a focal point for analysis and resolution of issues found in separation files, including queries from UNJSPF and Audit Notes.
Handle regular reconciliation of IARC participants' contributions.
Contribute to pension group briefings and answer queries assigned in MyService.
Open, answer, and close tickets within Service Level Agreement timelines.
Prepare year-end schedules and documents as assigned.
Participate in testing and suggesting design changes in IT systems used for pension administration.
Engage in team discussions and trainings, proposing improvements to processes. 1
Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned, including support for processing separations.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of secondary level education is essential.
Higher education with a focus on accounting is desirable.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in an administrative function is essential, including at least 3 years in a pension benefit administration context and experience with UNJSPF.
Proven ability to work with sensitive figures and maintain confidentiality.
Strong skills in auditing, teamwork, communication, and the ability to handle high volumes of work effectively.
Educational Background: The position requires at least a secondary level education, with higher education in accounting being an advantage. Candidates must have qualifications recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in administrative roles, with at least 3 years specifically in pension benefit administration. Experience with UNJSPF is also essential, demonstrating a strong understanding of pension systems and regulations.
Languages: Expert knowledge of English is essential, while intermediate knowledge of French is also required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The position offers an attractive remuneration package, including an annual net base salary starting at CHF 86,236, subject to mandatory deductions. Staff members receive 30 days of annual leave. The recruitment process may include a written test or video assessment, and candidates must provide scanned copies of required qualifications.
