Job Overview:
The G-5 Education Sector Project Engagement position is primarily focused on supporting the implementation of educational projects within the UNESCO framework. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes and ensure the effective delivery of educational programs. The incumbent will be expected to engage in project planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with UNESCO's strategic objectives. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapting to the evolving needs of the education sector. The successful candidate will also be responsible for contributing to reports and documentation that reflect the progress and impact of educational initiatives, thereby supporting UNESCO's mission to promote quality education for all.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational projects in accordance with UNESCO's guidelines and objectives.
  • Collaborate with local and international partners to ensure the successful execution of educational programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate project activities, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for educators and stakeholders to enhance their capacity in delivering quality education.
  • Conduct research and analysis on educational trends and best practices to inform project development.
  • Support the organization of conferences, seminars, and other events related to education.
  • Engage with communities to promote awareness and participation in educational initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with UNESCO's policies and procedures throughout project implementation. 1

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of educational policies and practices at local, national, and international levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in project monitoring and evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to UNESCO's values and mission.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, international development, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position. Additional certifications in project management or education-related fields will be advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in project management, particularly within the education sector, is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs will be considered an asset. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing educational projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the working language of the organization. Proficiency in English is highly desirable, and knowledge of other UN languages will be considered an advantage.

Additional Notes:
This position is a project engagement role with a standard duration of one year. The recruitment is open to both internal and external candidates. The salary package includes a base salary along with additional benefits such as 30 days of annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, and retirement plan. The annual starting salary for this position is in the range of XX XXX Euros/USD.
