Job Overview: The position of Partner Monusco on the BANA OKAPI project is primarily focused on monitoring and analyzing social media activities related to public health campaigns, particularly vaccination efforts against Polio and Mpox. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Radio Okapi and will be responsible for mapping active social media accounts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and among the Congolese diaspora. The role requires the development of a communication plan and daily monitoring of social media, including community radio partners. The successful candidate will also engage influencers to promote vaccination campaigns and combat misinformation. This position demands a proactive approach to identifying trends on social media and generating reports that inform strategic decisions. The candidate will be expected to produce engaging content for social media and ensure the quality of published materials, while also being available to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a mapping of active social media accounts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and among the Congolese diaspora.
Develop a communication plan and daily monitoring reports for social media.
Monitor community radio partners and establish strategies to engage influencers in vaccination campaigns.
Track social media trends based on identified audience segments.
Generate a variety of statistical reports from various databases.
Maintain a regular database of key actors/influencers in the social media ecosystem.
Identify potential allies/influencers to amplify MONUSCO and UNICEF health messages at the provincial level.
Produce periodic and ad hoc analytical reports on social media performance.
Advise on appropriate responses and counter-narratives to misinformation and vaccine hesitancy. 1
Assist in organizing and implementing social media campaigns and events. 1
Produce reports on the impact of social media campaigns. 1
Ensure the quality of content published on Radio Okapi's social media and website. 1
Create engaging content for social media and digital communication. 1
Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and outside regular office hours. 1
Produce at least three multimedia elements per week related to public health and vaccination. 1
Develop a communication and monitoring plan for Radio Okapi's social media and website. 1
Deliver a final report analyzing social media trends over the past ten months.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or a related field is required.
Proficiency in using social media monitoring tools such as Hootsuite, Tweet Deck, Google Analytics, and Trello is essential.
Familiarity with Crowdtangle or Meltwater is desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or other relevant fields. Additional training in social media monitoring and analysis would be beneficial, enhancing the candidate's ability to perform the job effectively.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in social media, public information, public relations, or a related field. The candidate must have experience working with social media platforms and using social media monitoring tools. This level of experience is crucial for the successful execution of the responsibilities associated with the role.
Languages: Fluency in French, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse audiences.
