The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was established on December 14, 1950, by the United Nations General Assembly. Colombia is currently the country most affected by the outflow of over 7.1 million Venezuelan refugees and migrants, hosting more than 2.4 million Venezuelans, most of whom are in the process of regularization. Despite the 2016 Peace Agreement, conflict and armed violence continue to displace Colombians, with an estimated 842,000 people displaced again by internal conflict since November 201

• Additionally, over 2.3 million Venezuelans living in Colombia have registered to benefit from the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) issued by the Colombian government in February 2021, which provides a 10-year protection status and access to a full range of rights, including healthcare, education, formal employment, and financial inclusion. UNHCR supports the implementation of TPS and believes it is a promising avenue to address the vulnerability of Venezuelan refugees and migrants and contribute positively to Colombia's economy. UNHCR continues to work towards achieving durable solutions for affected communities, particularly Afro-Colombians and indigenous peoples who are disproportionately affected by displacement and confinement events, especially in the Pacific Coast region. Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer will operate under the delegated authority and supervision of the Head of Field Office and/or their designated representative. The role involves providing administrative assistance and support in routine services and activities within the Program Unit. The volunteer will assist in organizing and documenting the selection of partners according to the selection and retention policy, ensuring due diligence to meet project requirements. The volunteer will also support the timely establishment, periodic monitoring, and reporting of partnership agreements in accordance with established guidelines and procedures outlined in the framework for implementation with partners. Additionally, the volunteer will contribute to monitoring activities implemented through partnerships and those under direct implementation according to the Program Manual and programming instructions. The role includes ensuring compliance with the issuance of audit certificates for partners according to the Risk-Based Project Audit Policy. The volunteer will utilize UNHCR's corporate tools (e.g., COMPASS, PROMS, Cloud ERP, etc.) for key activities related to planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting, generating data for evidence-based programmatic decisions and analysis. The volunteer is also expected to actively contribute to the programming of UNHCR's community of practice and improve programming tools and processes. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate into the UNV program's mandate during their assignment and promote voluntary action through community engagement in their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate part of their work time to recommended activities such as enhancing their understanding of the concept of volunteering through relevant readings, participating actively in UNV program activities, learning about and developing traditional and/or local forms of volunteering in the host country, providing annual self-assessment reports and final assignment reports on UNV actions, results, and opportunities, contributing articles or critiques of their field experiences for inclusion in UNV publications, and assisting with the Mentorship Program for new UN Volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Proficiency in using corporate tools and software for planning and reporting.
• Understanding of project management principles and practices.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and respect diversity.

Educational Background:

• A degree in social sciences, international relations, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in project management or administration are a plus.
• Knowledge of UNHCR's mandate and operations is an advantage.

Experience:

• Previous experience in administrative support or project management is desirable.
• Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an asset.
• Familiarity with refugee issues and humanitarian assistance is beneficial.

Languages:

• Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory.
• Good command of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the local context is a plus.
