Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Technology, Innovation, Connectivity, and Infrastructure Division (TICID) of the Economic Commission for Africa. The intern will work under the supervision of the Chief of the Technologies, Innovation, and Digital Transformation Section and the Coordinator of the Digital Centre of Excellence on Digital ID, Trade, and Economy. The role involves engaging in policy research and analysis, providing technical support to member states, and participating in consensus building and advocacy efforts. The intern will assist in collecting and analyzing data related to the digital economy and e-governance, conduct research on digital trends, and propose innovative solutions to enhance digital engagements with various stakeholders. Additionally, the intern will support the preparation of reports on the digital economy, e-commerce, digital trade, and other related topics, highlighting achievements and challenges in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties will include:
Research and Analysis: Assisting in the collection and analysis of data related to the digital economy and e-governance, conducting research on digital trends, and proposing innovative solutions to enhance digital engagements.
Technical Support: Supporting the design and implementation of programs under the Digital Center of Excellence, including initiatives related to Digital ID and interoperability, as well as capacity building for students and teachers.
Content Creation and Management: Assisting in the creation of digital content such as infographics and social media posts, updating and maintaining the ECA's website content, and developing recommendations to improve usability.
Collaboration: Working collaboratively with various departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information shared through ECA's platforms.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes either a graduate degree or being in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. This indicates that the position is suitable for individuals who are pursuing advanced studies or have recently completed their undergraduate education, particularly in fields related to technology, innovation, digital transformation, or economics.
