Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator is tasked with the overall supervision, management, and coordination of INTERSOS operations within the designated geographic area of responsibility, which includes Odesa and frequent field visits to Mykolaiv and Kherson. This role is crucial in ensuring that the operations align with the mission country strategy and that the humanitarian needs of the affected populations are met effectively. The Field Coordinator will oversee program operations, office administration, and support services, ensuring compliance with financial and administrative procedures while implementing adequate security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security measures. The position also involves strategic decision-making and representation for the area of responsibility, working closely with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and other senior management team members to design and implement the country strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Coordinator's duties encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including providing strategic inputs on program implementation, contributing to the development of the Country Strategy and Annual Action Plan, and ensuring that operations strategies meet objectives in terms of budget and quality. The role involves regular analysis of the operational context, supporting the implementation of field assessments for new projects, and ensuring timely communication of operational achievements. The Field Coordinator is also responsible for establishing partnerships with organizations and authorities, representing INTERSOS in coordination forums, and overseeing logistics and supply chain management. Additionally, the position includes supervising budgeting and expenditures, managing staff, ensuring adherence to safety and security protocols, and contributing to the continuous improvement of support services quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, International Relations, Humanitarian and International Cooperation, or a related field. They should have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in managing humanitarian projects or programs, including financial management and logistics responsibilities. Experience in complex emergency settings and insecure countries is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong administration, finance, and budget management skills, along with essential computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and internet usage. Analytical thinking and strategic program development skills are also required.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Political Sciences, International Relations, or Humanitarian and International Cooperation. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and effectively managing programs in challenging environments.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the management of humanitarian projects or programs. Languages:
