Job Overview:
The Head of Creativity Unit (Branding and Audiovisual) will play a pivotal role in IOM's Department of Media and Communications Unit (DMC), which is responsible for managing media relations and public information issues globally. This position involves formulating and implementing creative communication strategies that promote IOM's mission and raise awareness about migration issues. The successful candidate will oversee the development of innovative graphic and audiovisual content, ensuring that it aligns with IOM's branding and messaging goals. The role requires a strategic thinker who can translate complex migration topics into engaging and accessible formats for diverse audiences, thereby enhancing IOM's visibility and impact in the media.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise the graphic design and multimedia teams, providing expert advice and guidance on the strategic development of messaging and content.
  • Oversee the approval of graphic design and audiovisual products to support institutional visibility and media engagement.
  • Review and edit content developed by creative teams, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives.
  • Plan and lead the production of innovative graphic and digital experiences that effectively communicate complex ideas.
  • Commission, script, produce, and direct video content featuring the Senior Management Team for various platforms.
  • Coordinate with headquarters departments to develop promotional materials and ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Provide technical assistance to field missions in creating graphic and audiovisual materials.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of the Department of Media and Communications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Media Communications, Public Information, or a related field from an accredited institution with seven years of relevant professional experience; or a University degree in the same fields with nine years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in corporate brand management and graphic design.
  • Proficiency in video, photography, and graphic design software, including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Excellent oral and visual communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an engaging manner.
  • Strong understanding of communication campaigns and tools, particularly in engaging audiences through social media and digital channels.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Media Communications, Public Information, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, a University degree in the aforementioned fields is acceptable, provided the candidate has nine years of relevant professional experience. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of media and communication in a global context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in the field of media and communications, particularly in corporate brand management and graphic design. Candidates should have a strong portfolio demonstrating their expertise in creating impactful visual content and managing communication strategies effectively. Experience in a similar role within an international organization or a non-governmental organization is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. Candidates are also encouraged to have a working knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, as this will be considered an advantage during the selection process. Proficiency in the required languages will be evaluated through written and/or oral assessments during the recruitment process.

Additional Notes:
