Job Overview:
The Deputy Field Coordinator (DFC) will work under the supervision of the Field Coordinator and will be responsible for managing and supporting Project Managers in the implementation of activities in their designated area. The DFC will ensure that the activities are relevant, of high quality, and timely, adhering to the guidelines set by SI and donor requirements. This role involves participating in the design of SI's strategy in the area and proposing new interventions or adaptations of ongoing activities based on the evolving humanitarian situation. The DFC will also represent SI to partners and may take over security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security management and representation tasks during the absence of the Field Coordinator. The position is particularly challenging due to the peak of activities expected between September and December, which may include the initiation of 2 to 3 new projects. The initial priorities for the first few months will focus on winterization efforts and the merging of Project Manager positions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and support Project Managers in the implementation of humanitarian activities in the assigned area.
• Ensure the relevance, quality, and timeliness of activities in accordance with SI guidelines and donor requirements.
• Participate in the design and adaptation of SI's strategy in the area.
• Propose new interventions based on the evolving humanitarian context.
• Represent SI to partners and stakeholders in the area of responsibility.
• Take over security management and representation tasks in the absence of the Field Coordinator.
• Oversee the implementation of winterization projects and prepare for the merging of Project Manager positions.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure effective communication and coordination among all staff members.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of projects and report on outcomes. 1
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and adapt operational procedures as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in project management within the humanitarian sector.
• Strong understanding of SI's sectors of intervention, particularly in WASH, Shelter, and Cash.
• Excellent command of project cycle management.
• Strong management skills, capable of leading a team of 10-12 people.
• Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to neutrality in humanitarian work.
• Ability to adapt to changing security situations and operational contexts.

Educational Background:
A degree in International Studies, Development, or a specialized humanitarian diploma is required. Additional training in humanitarian response or related fields is considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 1-2 years in similar positions, demonstrating a solid understanding of project management and humanitarian operations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Ukrainian and Russian is preferred, as these languages will facilitate communication with local partners and beneficiaries.

Additional Notes:
This is a salaried position with a starting gross salary of EUR 2,475 per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2,250 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The contract duration is for 4 months, with breaks implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months, along with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions include an individual room in a guesthouse with 24/7 electricity and internet access, although field bases may have more basic living conditions. Security measures are in place, including curfews and movement restrictions.
