Job Overview:
The Program Associate position is integral to the successful implementation of programmatic activities within the ABA's Center for Global Programs. The role involves assisting in various aspects of program management, ensuring compliance with administrative, budgetary, and donor requirements. The Program Associate will coordinate research efforts, contribute to program reporting, and support the development of outreach materials. This position requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team, to ensure data integrity and effective program tracking. The Program Associate will also play a key role in budget management, project communication, and administrative support, making it essential for the candidate to possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Program Associate include:
  • Coordinating input and conducting desk research for concept notes and program reporting, including drafting quarterly and annual reports, memoranda, and outreach materials.
  • Ensuring program implementation adheres to U.S. government and donor procurement guidelines, as well as ABA policies.
  • Collaborating with the MEL team to collect and clean program data, entering it into required tracking systems and developing data visualization tools for reporting.
  • Participating in the planning and tracking of program activities, updating work plans, and overseeing monitoring and evaluation data collection.
  • Assisting in budget creation, tracking project activities against budgets, and drafting financial projections.
  • Serving as a point of contact for projects, communicating with program teams and partners, and coordinating team meetings.
  • Providing advanced administrative support, including drafting contracts, processing invoices, and arranging travel.
  • Supporting the onboarding process for new staff and consultants, including drafting job descriptions and participating in interviews.
  • Ensuring adherence to data privacy regulations and monitoring political and environmental developments that may impact project safety. 1
  • Performing other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Program Associate position include:
  • An Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience working in an office environment, which may include internships or volunteer work.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups of stakeholders.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the Program Associate position should possess at least an Associate’s degree, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Educational backgrounds that emphasize social sciences, international relations, or public policy may be particularly beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires previous experience in an office setting, which can include internships or volunteer roles. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with administrative tasks and program support functions, showcasing their ability to contribute effectively to team objectives.

Languages:
