This position is responsible for managing various facilities and programmes that the FIBG deploys, which can range from standardized to bespoke blended finance programmes. The Analyst will support the design and approval processes of these programmes, ensuring their integrity and consistency during implementation. The role primarily focuses on programme structuring, origination, and data management activities, particularly concerning donor-required portfolio and programme data. The FI PDI Team oversees a substantial portfolio of over EUR 3 billion in active donor funds, managing the entire lifecycle of these funds, including mobilization, administration, and reporting. The Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that donor funds are utilized efficiently and transparently, adhering to the highest professional standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for several key duties and responsibilities, including:
Supporting the origination, design, and development of assigned FI donor-funded programmes, ensuring alignment with the FI Strategy through partner financial institutions (PFIs). This includes conducting research on the issues addressed by programmes, drafting funding proposals, and developing pitch documentation.
Assisting in the donor resources mobilization process by drafting concept papers, communications, and presentations aimed at articulating FI programmes requiring donor-funded concessional finance.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to support comprehensive programme deployment and implementation throughout the project cycle, from contracting to execution.
Maintaining and monitoring FI-related donor funding pipelines and portfolio data, producing data analysis and management reports to inform decision-making.
Leading or supporting the Grant Review process, fundraising efforts, and negotiations with donors, particularly regarding budgets and results.
Preparing bespoke donor progress updates and reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and facilitating future audits.
Actively participating in Bank-wide exercises and collaborating with other teams to enhance knowledge-sharing and coordination.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in international development, international relations, economics, finance, social science, or a related discipline, although this is desirable rather than essential. Relevant work experience is crucial, particularly in blended finance projects within international financial institutions or donor organizations, focusing on fundraising, product structuring, and programme management. Essential skills include excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English, strong presentation development skills, and the capacity to synthesize complex information into clear proposals. Candidates should also demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, international relations, economics, finance, or social science. While a degree is essential, relevant work experience may compensate for a lack of formal education in some cases. Candidates should have a solid understanding of financial principles and practices, particularly as they relate to international development and donor-funded projects.
Experience: The position requires relevant work experience, particularly in the context of blended finance projects. Candidates should have experience working within international financial institutions or donor organizations, focusing on aspects such as fundraising, product structuring, and programme management. The ability to demonstrate a track record of successful project implementation and donor engagement will be highly regarded.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as the role requires excellent communication skills for drafting proposals and engaging with stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages such as Russian, French, or Arabic would be advantageous but is not essential for the position.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years. The role is based in London, United Kingdom, and is full-time. The EBRD promotes a diverse and inclusive work environment and encourages applications from qualified candidates regardless of their background. The organization offers a comprehensive suite of competitive benefits and prioritizes employee wellbeing. Due to the high volume of applications, the EBRD may not provide detailed feedback to candidates who are not shortlisted.
