Job Overview:
The Client Engagement Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the identification, development, and cultivation of partnerships with UN Agencies and Host Entities at the country level. This position is pivotal in managing relationships with priority partners, ensuring client satisfaction with volunteer services, and facilitating the mobilization of volunteers to designated partners. The Assistant will work closely with the Regional Manager and Country Coordinator, contributing to the overall mission of UNV by enhancing collaboration across multiple units and functions. The role requires regular interaction with UN personnel at various levels, emphasizing the importance of a client service approach and the delivery of volunteer management services. The Assistant will also be involved in advocacy campaigns and external communication efforts to raise awareness about the value of volunteerism.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. A demonstrated understanding of the UN system and its operations is essential, along with the capacity to apply this knowledge in practical situations. The ideal candidate should exhibit problem-solving abilities, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and the capability to manage relationships with various partners. Additionally, proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant tools for tracking and reporting is required.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in volunteer management or partnership development will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the principles of volunteerism and its role in development contexts.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of relevant experience in partnership development, volunteer management, or a related field is required. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing relationships and mobilizing resources in support of development initiatives.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Portuguese is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional UN languages will be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
This position is classified as a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Brasília, Brazil. The incumbent will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The assignment is classified as a family duty station, and the living conditions are generally good with access to health services. National UN Volunteers are covered under a malicious insurance plan. The security level in Brazil is moderate, and candidates are advised to exercise caution due to the potential for serious crime. Compliance with United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) procedures is mandatory during the assignment.

- Assist in mobilizing volunteers and developing and maintaining partnerships by managing key accounts and ensuring understanding of UNV's mandate among assigned UN partners.
- Identify volunteer placement opportunities based on agency strategies and present UNV's value proposition.
- Prepare descriptions of assignments and develop initiatives that respond to partners' evolving needs.
- Organize advocacy campaigns and events to foster engagement and document knowledge for volunteer mobilization.
- Support business intelligence efforts by collecting and analyzing data related to UN Cooperation Frameworks.
- Record volunteer mobilization opportunities in CRM and prepare presentations for internal use.
- Enhance volunteer experience by supporting onboarding processes and providing timely assistance throughout the volunteer management cycle.

- Assist in gathering feedback from volunteers to improve management practices and organize appreciation initiatives to acknowledge their contributions.
