Job Overview:
The Chef de Projet de Services Logistiques will work under the responsibility of the Operations Manager and will contribute to the implementation of the mandate and strategy of Humanity & Inclusion within the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This position is crucial for ensuring the quality and impact of the project through effective delegation and appropriate control mechanisms. The project aims to enhance logistical capacities in Bunia, particularly in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis exacerbated by armed conflicts and the recent Ebola outbreak. The role involves operationalizing medical storage capacities and improving transport operations to health centers, thereby positioning HI as a key logistical actor in the humanitarian response.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Management: Oversee project teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members. 2) Strategy and Steering: Develop and implement strategies that align with HI's global standards and project objectives. 3) Operational Implementation: Ensure compliance with technical standards and project frameworks, manage project data, and facilitate functional team dynamics. 4) Emergency Preparedness and Response: Supervise warehouse management, coordinate transport operations, and maintain safety protocols. Specific responsibilities include managing storage allocations, planning humanitarian convoys, validating transport operations, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures. 5) Monitoring and Evaluation: Collaborate with the MEAL team to ensure project accountability and learning through data collection and analysis.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 2 years of professional experience in the transport sector, with project management experience highly recommended. A minimum of 1 year of team management experience is required. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in volatile security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security contexts. Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in logistics, project management, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of humanitarian logistics and project implementation.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the transport sector, with a strong emphasis on project management. Experience in managing teams and working in challenging environments is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in English is highly desirable to facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The contract is for a duration of 5 months, starting ideally in early November 2026, based in Bunia. The position is open to local candidates as well. The international contract includes comprehensive social coverage tailored to individual needs, including unemployment insurance for EU nationals, retirement insurance, health coverage, repatriation, and a salary starting from 2757 € gross per month. Additional benefits include a net per diem of 684 € per month, hardship allowance of 500 € net per month, 25 days of paid leave per year, and a rest and recuperation period of 5 days every 8 weeks. The position is non-accompanied, and collective accommodation is provided by HI.
