Job Posting Organization:
The UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) has been operating in Bolivia since the mid-1980s, focusing on various areas including rural development, drug consumption prevention, treatment and care for drug use disorders, institutional strengthening in the fight against drug trafficking, integrity, prevention and combat against illicit arms trafficking, corruption, human trafficking, and monitoring coca crops. In December 2022, the UNODC signed the Country Program for Bolivia 2023-2027, aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Plurinational State of Bolivia to prevent crime and respond to interconnected threats of drugs, organized crime, and corruption, supporting the development of healthy, safe, just, and inclusive societies. The UNODC will provide technical assistance in several key areas, including addressing the drug problem and excess coca cultivation, combating transnational organized crime, fighting corruption and economic crimes, and strengthening crime prevention and criminal justice.

Job Overview:
The position of Auxiliar Comercial is designed to provide commercial, logistical, administrative, and documentary support in identifying and strengthening collaboration opportunities with companies, institutions, and other strategic actors to access markets, generate added value, and strengthen the coffee production chain. The role involves supporting the implementation of commercial articulation strategies and sustainable alliances that promote the economic growth of producer organizations benefiting from the project. The Auxiliar Comercial will work directly under the project coordinator, ensuring that the necessary commercial, administrative, and operational support is provided for the timely execution of activities in the area, facilitating internal coordination, information management, and compliance with established procedures. This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency of production units, improving income, and strengthening competitiveness and autonomy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support in Commercial Development: Assist in gathering commercial information, tracking management and commercial actions according to established guidelines.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative and office support, including document filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, and record management. Maintain accurate records and reports (e.g., databases, project market access activities, activity logs, invoices, or supplies), ensuring timely updates and presentations as necessary.
  • Reception and Public Attention: Support reception functions, coordinate meetings, and manage facilities for conferences.
  • Logistical Support and Events: Collaborate in the logistical coordination of meetings, workshops, travel, and events to identify target markets and clients, as well as business opportunities for project products.
  • Office and Facilities Management: Assist in controlling stock and inventory of supplies, consumables, and assets. Collaborate in procurement activities as directed, such as creating requisitions and receiving goods.
  • Travel Support: Manage staff travel, including reservations, logistical aspects, and obtaining security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security authorizations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Required: Secondary education diploma (or equivalent) with 3 years of relevant experience or a university degree (Bachelor's in Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Marketing, Economics, or related fields) with no required years of experience.
  • Relevant experience of 0 to 3 years (depending on academic qualifications) in commercial, logistical, documentary, and administrative support in development projects/programs, business management, marketing, institutional relations, or related areas.
  • Desirable: Experience in supporting the establishment and strengthening of strategic alliances with private sector companies, producer organizations, public institutions, or cooperation organizations. Familiarity with collaboration and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace (G Suite), or similar tools, as well as web-based management systems.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes either a secondary education diploma (or equivalent) with three years of relevant experience or a university degree (Bachelor's) in Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Marketing, Economics, or related fields without any required years of experience.

Experience:
The position requires relevant experience ranging from 0 to 3 years, depending on the academic qualifications provided. This experience should be in commercial, logistical, documentary, and administrative support within development projects or programs, business management, marketing, institutional relations, or related areas. It is also desirable to have experience in supporting the establishment and strengthening of strategic alliances with private sector companies, producer organizations, public institutions, or cooperation organizations.

Languages:
Mandatory languages for this position include Spanish at a native level and English at an intermediate level. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the role.
