Job Overview: The Associate Project Officer (Membership and Platform Management) will play a crucial role in supporting the management of the ASPnet membership and the development, operation, and maintenance of the ASPnet Connect collaborative platform. The incumbent will work under the overall authority of the director-general" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Assistant Director-General for Education and will be responsible for ensuring that membership data is accurate and up to date, thereby facilitating effective communication and collaboration among ASPnet National Coordinators and UNESCO. The role requires a proactive approach to enhancing community interactions and collaboration through the platform, ensuring that it aligns with UNESCO policies and the needs of the network.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Project Officer include supporting the design and overseeing the development of new functions for the ASPnet Connect platform, making minor adjustments to the platform configuration, and managing the submission and approval workflows for membership applications. The incumbent will also monitor external software development companies to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, evaluate platform functionalities based on user feedback, and assist in managing user rights in accordance with UNESCO policies. Additionally, the role involves establishing user support mechanisms, coordinating training sessions for National Coordinators and UNESCO staff, conducting risk assessments of the platform, producing regular reports on membership, and ensuring the accuracy of data in the digital directory of ASPnet member institutions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in fields such as education, data science, information technology, information systems, economics, statistics, business administration, project management, or a related area. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in data management, digital platform management, information systems, project management, or a related field is required, with at least one year of experience at the international level preferred. Experience with complex datasets, data migration, validation, and standardization, as well as IT project management and administration of collaborative digital platforms, is essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as education, data science, information technology, information systems, economics, statistics, business administration, or project management. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of managing digital platforms and data systems effectively.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, with a preference for candidates who have acquired at least one year of experience at the international level. Candidates should have experience working with large datasets, including data migration and validation, as well as relevant experience in IT project management and the administration of collaborative digital platforms. This experience is vital for ensuring the effective management of the ASPnet Connect platform and its functionalities.
Languages: Candidates must have excellent knowledge of English (oral and written) and good knowledge of French. Knowledge of another official language of UNESCO, such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.
Additional Notes: The position is a project appointment with a duration of 1 year, with the possibility of extension subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory performance. The role is open to both internal and external candidates.
