Job Overview: The Laboratory Information Management System Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the development and nationwide rollout of the Integrated Laboratory Information Management System (ILIMS) under the Department of Health Office for Health Laboratories. This position requires coordination across various technical teams, software developers, vendors, and laboratory stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the system's core modules while adhering to health informatics and data privacy standards. The coordinator will monitor project progress, facilitate testing and validation, support training and capacity-building initiatives, and prepare reports for the Office of Health Laboratories (OHL) and donor partners. This role is crucial for advancing the STRIDES initiative, which aims to strengthen national laboratory systems and enhance outbreak preparedness in the Philippines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Laboratory Information Management System Coordinator include: supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of ILIMS development and rollout; coordinating the deployment of ILIMS modules to ensure compliance with national laboratory system requirements; serving as a liaison between various stakeholders to facilitate communication and issue resolution; ensuring interoperability between ILIMS and other national health information systems; monitoring implementation progress and supporting system validation and user acceptance testing; facilitating pilot implementations and user consultations; developing and monitoring data quality assurance processes; coordinating capacity-building activities for laboratory personnel; assisting in the development of operational guidelines and user manuals; supporting administration" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">system administration activities; participating in requirements gathering and workflow analysis; preparing technical updates and implementation reports; promoting standardized use of ILIMS; providing regular progress updates to management; and representing OHL in technical working groups and consultations.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a relevant health science field. Candidates should have at least 1 year of progressive experience in managing software development or health informatics projects. A proven understanding of laboratory operations, health information systems, and data interoperability frameworks is essential. Knowledge of DOH Systems, HL7, or ISO 15189 standards is preferred.
