Job Overview: The Investment Associate position is integral to the Delivery Unit, which operates under dual reporting to both the Infrastructure and Energy Division and the Andean Region Division. The role involves providing technical and analytical support to Investment Officers and project teams throughout the transaction cycle, emphasizing execution quality and timely delivery. Duties and Responsibilities: The Investment Associate will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
Supporting senior team members in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities.
Assisting in the due diligence process by conducting thorough research and analysis to assess transaction feasibility and risks.
Contributing to the preparation and review of transaction documents to ensure compliance with IDB Invest standards.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams on environmental, social, and corporate governance safeguards, as well as legal and advisory functions.
Conducting in-depth financial analysis and maintaining complex financial models to support investment decisions.
Preparing client presentations and engaging in client interactions to provide strategic advice.
Staying abreast of market trends and conducting research on specific sectors to identify opportunities and risks.
Managing multiple tasks and deadlines associated with various projects.
Proactively seeking professional development opportunities and contributing to the development of junior team members through mentorship.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, business administration, or economics. A Master's degree or MBA is considered a plus. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of relevant professional experience in analysis and loan origination, particularly in structuring complex finance transactions. A validated track record of working with a broad range of financial instruments, including equity and mezzanine financing, is essential. Strong client relationship skills and experience in investment or advisory firms, banks, or infrastructure companies are highly valued. Understanding the market dynamics and challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean is also important.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, business administration, or economics. A Master's degree or MBA is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application.

Additional Notes: The position is a national staff contract with an initial duration of 36 months, subject to renewal upon mutual agreement.
