Job Overview:
As the Child Protection and Rights Manager, you will report to the Deputy Representative and be responsible for managing and supervising all stages of child protection programs and projects. This includes strategic planning, formulation, and delivery of sustainable contributions to national and international efforts aimed at creating a protective environment for children. Your role will involve ensuring that children's rights to survival, development, and well-being are upheld according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international frameworks. You will establish action plans, oversee work progress, and ensure that program results align with UNICEF's Strategic Plans and accountability frameworks. Key functions include managerial leadership, program development and planning, program management, monitoring, quality control, advisory services, advocacy, networking, and capacity building.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide managerial leadership for child protection programs, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic goals.
• Develop and plan programs that address child protection and rights, ensuring they are evidence-based and responsive to the needs of children and communities.
• Manage and monitor program implementation, ensuring quality control and adherence to results-based management principles.
• Offer advisory services and technical support to stakeholders involved in child protection initiatives.
• Advocate for children's rights and build partnerships with government, civil society, and private sector organizations.
• Innovate and manage knowledge related to child protection, ensuring capacity building among staff and partners.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF's standards of performance and accountability frameworks in all program activities.

Required Qualifications:

• An advanced university degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, or a relevant social science field.
• A minimum of eight years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection and child rights areas at the international level.
• Strong technical expertise in national child rights instruments, policy analysis, program development, and system strengthening.
• Proven skills in strategic program management, monitoring and evaluation, partnership building, advocacy, and emergency preparedness.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in fields such as international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or other relevant social sciences. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of child protection and rights.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least eight years of professional experience in social development planning and management, specifically in child protection and child rights areas at the international level. Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is highly desirable, as is relevant experience in program development within a UN system agency or organization.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration in diverse environments.
