Job Overview:
The Driver position at WFP is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of authorized personnel and commodities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's responsibilities include providing safe transportation for authorized personnel, ensuring compliance with UN safety and security rules, and maintaining the cleanliness and mechanical condition of the assigned vehicle. The driver will meet personnel at the airport, assist with visa and customs, and report on vehicle status to supervisors. Additionally, the driver will perform basic office tasks such as filing, photocopying, and delivering items as needed. It is essential for the driver to follow established protocols during field deliveries and report any incidents or mechanical issues immediately to ensure safety and efficiency in operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess formal driver training with a valid driver’s license. A demonstrated safe driving record is essential, along with knowledge of driving rules, local roads, and safety standards. The ability to read and interpret safety documents and perform basic vehicle repairs is also required. A client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, and courtesy are critical attributes for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education. Additionally, candidates must have formal driver training and certification to operate the assigned vehicle in accordance with local regulations.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of work experience as a driver, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or UN system. Experience in driving various types of vehicles, including vans and trucks, is necessary, and defensive driving experience is considered desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in the UN language used at the duty station is mandatory, along with proficiency in the local language if it differs from the UN language. This ensures effective communication in the role.
