Job Overview:
The CCAC Scaling up Coordinator for the Super Pollutants Accelerator in Mexico will play a crucial role in supporting the Government of Mexico to enhance the impact of the Accelerator Programme on short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs). This position involves identifying funding opportunities from various sources, cultivating strategic partnerships, and ensuring effective coordination of the funding pipeline to support scaled-up actions on super pollutants. The coordinator will work closely with the Senior Coordinator and a specialized national team to secure the adoption and sustainability of projects, ensuring that key technical capacities are retained beyond the initial funding period. The role is pivotal in aligning Mexico's ambitious climate commitments with actionable strategies and securing necessary resources for implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the CCAC Scaling up Coordinator include:

• Enhancing coordination and impact of SLCP initiatives by identifying and engaging with related initiatives and partners, developing and implementing an integrated coordination framework, and producing reports demonstrating alignment and mitigation results.
• Increasing resource mobilization and financial tracking by preparing and submitting funding proposals, establishing a financial tracking system, and designing training programs for resource mobilization.
• Ensuring sustained project adoption and institutional continuity by developing sustainability and institutionalization plans for the Accelerator program and related projects.
• Strengthening long-term climate leadership and strategic engagement by producing strategic materials linking national implementation with international processes, establishing bilateral partnerships, and coordinating participation in key international forums. The coordinator will also be responsible for submitting all deliverables electronically to the CCAC Secretariat and consulting with SEMARNAT/INECC.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires an advanced degree in environmental management, public policy, international development, international relations, finance, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates must have 5–8 years of experience in climate project management, grant writing, and donor coordination, preferably in Latin America or within Mexican public institutions. A proven track record in accessing international climate finance and navigating public procurement processes is essential. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are required, along with the ability to work across technical, financial, and political domains. Experience in collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams to develop funding opportunities is also necessary.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in a relevant field such as environmental management, public policy, international development, international relations, or finance. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree, allowing for flexibility in educational qualifications while still ensuring that candidates have the necessary expertise and knowledge to fulfill the role effectively.

Experience:
The position requires 5–8 years of relevant experience in climate project management, grant writing, and donor coordination. Candidates should have a strong background in accessing international climate finance, particularly from sources such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Experience working within Mexican public institutions or in Latin America is preferred, as it provides valuable context and understanding of the regional challenges and opportunities in climate action.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish (both written and oral) is mandatory for this position, as it is essential for effective communication with local stakeholders and partners.
