Job Overview:
The Visual Communications Officer will play a crucial role in managing the digital communication portfolio of the UNFPA Dhaka Country Office. This position involves overseeing the creation and dissemination of content across various digital platforms, including social media and the organization’s website. The Officer will collaborate closely with the Chief of Communication and other team members to ensure that communication products effectively convey messages related to sexual and reproductive health, gender issues, and humanitarian responses. The role also includes the development of visual communication materials, such as videos and graphics, to support advocacy efforts and enhance the visibility of UNFPA's work. The Officer is expected to engage in event planning and donor communications, contributing to the overall mission of UNFPA in Bangladesh.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Visual Communications Officer will be responsible for producing a variety of visual content, including videos, photographs, and social media posts, to promote UNFPA's initiatives. Key responsibilities include updating social media channels and the website with relevant content, supporting campaign initiatives, and assisting in organizing UN events and digital campaigns. The Officer will design culturally relevant advocacy materials in both Bangla and English, document best practices for knowledge sharing, and monitor the performance of digital platforms, providing analytics reports to improve engagement. Additional duties may include taking photos and videos during events and donor visits, as well as performing other related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education, with a bachelor's degree in Development Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field being desirable. A strong background in developing audio-visual communication products is essential, along with knowledge of digital communications, web publishing, and social media management. Excellent skills in photo and video production, including graphic design, are required. Experience in a multicultural environment and a demonstrated ability to work as a team player are also important. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Bangla is mandatory, while knowledge of UNFPA's mandate areas is advantageous.

Educational Background:
The position requires at least a secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Development Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of communication in a development context.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in developing audio-visual communication products. This experience should include a strong focus on digital communications, web publishing, and social media management. Previous work in the development sector is considered an asset, as is experience in a multicultural and web-based environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bangla is required for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
