Job Overview:
The TVET Instructor (English) position at UNRWA involves a multifaceted role that encompasses the design and delivery of vocational education and training programs. The instructor will be responsible for developing learning programs and curricula tailored to the needs of Palestine refugees, ensuring that these programs are relevant and effective. This includes conducting occupational and competency analyses, drafting program profiles, and integrating new technologies into the curriculum. The instructor will facilitate both school-based and work-based learning, which requires designing training venues, selecting appropriate trainees, and employing adult learning strategies that accommodate individuals with disabilities. The role also involves designing assessments to evaluate student performance, building relationships with employers to align training with labor market needs, and applying quality assurance measures throughout the training cycle. Additionally, the instructor will support initiatives related to greening and digitalization in education, collaborating with colleagues to maintain a respectful and organized learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the TVET Instructor (English) include:

• Supporting the design and development of learning programs and curricula, including conducting occupational and competency analyses, drafting program profiles, and integrating emerging technologies.
• Facilitating the delivery of school-based and work-based learning programs, which involves preparing training venues, selecting trainees, and managing learning environments.
• Designing and implementing student assessments, including formative and summative assessments, and developing inclusive assessment plans.
• Building linkages with employers and utilizing labor market information to inform training courses, conducting skills needs assessments, and analyzing skills gaps.
• Applying quality assurance tools and processes in accordance with UNRWA's TVET Quality Assurance Framework.
• Supporting greening and digitalization initiatives by designing and implementing relevant training programs.
• Collaborating with other instructors and staff to maintain a respectful environment and implement Occupational Health and Safety measures.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree of four years from an accredited educational institution, with a major specialization in English Literature. While no specific work experience is required, candidates should indicate any involvement in outside activities, including teaching, public speaking, or voluntary work. Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position is a university degree in English Literature from an accredited institution. This degree should provide the foundational knowledge necessary for teaching English effectively within a vocational training context.

Additional Notes:
This position is a daily paid assignment for up to three months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The daily rate for this position is $29.17, and the salary may be adjusted based on the work schedule. Candidates must reside in Syria and be within commuting distance of the duty station, with authorization to work in Syria at the time of application. The agency will not facilitate work permits, and candidates must have valid work authorization. Preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates from underrepresented genders to promote gender parity.
