Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the logistic management of the HQ Adaptation Programme projects (HQAP), as well as overseeing waste management activities and safety aspects related to these projects. The incumbent will prepare, plan, and coordinate activities with both internal and external stakeholders, working closely with the WMBC Head of Logistics and HQAP Project Managers. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure business continuity in daily logistic support and operations, assessing the impact of HQAP projects on logistic activities, and deconflicting the use of available assets and staff as necessary. The position demands a strong understanding of logistics processes, waste management, and safety protocols to effectively support the HQ in maintaining a steady operational state.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Coordinator will monitor and coordinate logistic and waste management activities, ensuring safety aspects are addressed for the assigned program and projects. Key responsibilities include supporting the Head of Logistics Services in maintaining business continuity, assessing the impact of HQAP projects on logistics, and managing the deconfliction of resources. The incumbent will also maintain up-to-date knowledge of logistics and waste management processes, contribute to identifying improvements and best practices, and ensure accurate and timely databases and records are maintained. Additionally, the role involves drafting reports, providing status updates, and facilitating information exchange among stakeholders. The Logistics Coordinator will act as a point of contact for logistics-related matters and perform any other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a higher secondary education qualification with at least 6 years of professional experience related to the position, or an upper vocational training/post-secondary degree in Facility Management, Business Operations, or Supply Chain Management with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Facility Management or Logistic operations. A good knowledge of general Health and Safety principles is essential, along with strong communication skills. Proficiency in standard MS Office software and off-the-shelf planning tools is required. Additionally, candidates must meet the minimum language proficiency levels in NATO's official languages: V (Advanced) in one language and III (Intermediate) in the other. Previous experience in an international or multicultural environment and fluency in both official languages would be advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a higher secondary education qualification or an upper vocational training/post-secondary degree in relevant fields such as Facility Management, Business Operations, or Supply Chain Management. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of logistics and facility management within an international organization like NATO.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 6 years in a relevant professional capacity if holding a higher secondary education qualification, or at least 3 years of experience in Facility Management or Logistic operations if possessing a post-secondary degree. This experience should ideally be in an international or multicultural environment, which would provide the necessary context for working within NATO's diverse operational framework.

Languages:
Proficiency in NATO's official languages is mandatory for this position. Candidates must demonstrate V (Advanced) proficiency in one language and III (Intermediate) proficiency in the other. While fluency in both languages is considered an advantage, it is essential for effective communication within the organization and with various stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The successful applicant will be offered a definite duration contract of three years, with the possibility of renewal for up to an additional three years, contingent upon the needs of the HQ Adaptation Programme project. This position is specifically required for a limited period to support the HQAP project. The contract will be subject to the approval of the national authority concerned if the applicant is seconded from a NATO member state.
