Job Overview:
The TVET Instructor for Electronics will play a crucial role in the design and development of learning programs and curricula tailored to the needs of students in the field of electronics. This position involves organizing and conducting occupational and competency analyses, drafting program profiles, and integrating new technologies into the curriculum. The instructor will facilitate both school-based and work-based learning programs, ensuring that training venues are well-prepared and that the learning environment is conducive to all students, including those with disabilities. The instructor will also be responsible for designing assessments that evaluate both practical and theoretical knowledge, as well as building connections with employers and analyzing labor market information to ensure that training programs meet current industry needs. The role requires a commitment to quality assurance and the integration of green and digital skills into training courses, as well as collaboration with other staff to maintain a respectful and organized learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and development of learning programs and curricula, including conducting occupational and competency analyses, drafting program profiles, and integrating emerging technologies.
  • Facilitate the delivery of school-based and work-based learning programs, including preparing training venues, selecting trainees, and developing inclusive training plans.
  • Design and implement student assessments, including formative and summative assessments, and develop assessment sheets and implementation plans.
  • Build linkages with employers and TVET instructors, collect labor market information, and conduct skills needs assessments.
  • Apply quality assurance tools and processes throughout the training cycle according to UNRWA's Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Support greening and digitalization initiatives by designing and implementing relevant learning programs.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to maintain a respectful environment and implement Occupational Health and Safety measures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree of four years from an accredited institution, with a major specialization in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering. No specific work experience is required for this position, but candidates should indicate any relevant outside activities or involvements that demonstrate their engagement in the field.

Languages:
For this position, proficiency in English and Arabic is required, with a minimum level of proficiency according to the UN Language Framework. Candidates should be able to read, write, listen, and speak in both languages at a level that allows for effective communication and instruction. Knowledge of French is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is a daily paid assignment for up to three months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The daily paid rate is $29.17, and the salary may be subject to a reduced work schedule. Additional benefits include one day of annual leave and one day of sick leave for each completed month of service. The vacancy is open to both internal and external candidates, but only those residing in Syria and authorized to work in the duty station at the time of application are eligible. UNRWA will not facilitate work permits, and candidates must have valid authorization to work in Syria. Preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates from underrepresented genders to promote gender parity.
