Job Overview:
The Economic intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Affairs Intern position is designed for individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in macroeconomic policy and financing for development. Interns will be involved in research and analysis, contributing to the Division's efforts in addressing macroeconomic challenges and supporting sustainable development initiatives. The internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals in a dynamic environment, where interns will assist in capacity development activities, workshops, and policy dialogues. The role requires a commitment to the ideals of the United Nations and a willingness to engage with diverse stakeholders. Interns will be expected to work five days a week, dedicating 35 hours to the internship, which can last from three to six months, depending on the intern's availability and the needs of the Division.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a variety of responsibilities, which may include: conducting research and analysis on macroeconomic policies, fiscal strategies, and public finance governance; preparing summary tables and graphs for ESCAP publications; supporting technical consultations and workshops aimed at promoting sustainable finance; developing capacity-building materials and e-learning modules; and assisting in the implementation of national and regional projects related to financing for development. Interns will also be tasked with identifying risks to sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region and documenting best practices in financing mechanisms. The role requires adaptability, as responsibilities may shift based on the Division's needs.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, candidates must meet specific criteria, including being enrolled in or having completed a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree. Relevant fields of study include macroeconomics, international economics, development studies, and related disciplines. While prior work experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in the United Nations' mission and possess the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Skills in statistical software and data analysis are desirable, as is the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a background in economics, finance, environmental studies, or related fields. A graduate degree or a bachelor's degree nearing completion is required.
