Job Overview:
The Consultant will play a vital role in enhancing the outreach and communication products of the Incident and Emergency Centre (IEC) within the IAEA. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and creative input to develop visual communication materials that effectively convey the IEC's mandate and services. The Consultant will be responsible for collecting and developing content, ensuring compliance with the IAEA's visual identity, and coordinating with vendors for the production and installation of outreach materials. The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that all communication products are accurate, accessible, and aligned with the IAEA's objectives in emergency preparedness and response.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implementation of the corridor and Operations Centre communications scheme: The Consultant will provide technical input and contribute to the implementation of wall decals for all eleven surfaces as per the approved design brief. This includes collecting and consolidating content, liaising with technical experts, facilitating internal reviews, and coordinating with vendors throughout the design and installation process.
• Revision, consolidation, and update of IEC brochures: The Consultant will conduct an inventory of existing IEC brochures, recommend a consolidated suite of materials, and draft, revise, and update content to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with the IAEA's visual identity.
• Revision and update of training material: The Consultant will review and update presentations, handouts, and e-learning content to maintain consistency across the training portfolio.
• Revision and editing of publications: The Consultant will carry out substantive revisions and editing of IEC publications, ensuring clarity and accessibility for the intended readership while maintaining technical integrity.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a university degree in communications, public information, journalism, science communication, graphic or visual communication design, publishing, or a related field. Alternatively, specialization or certification in exhibition, environmental or information graphic design, editorial and print production, or science and technical communication may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in communication, outreach, or publication production, with demonstrated experience in coordinating design and print vendors, producing outreach content, and revising technical material for non-technical audiences.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as communications, public information, journalism, science communication, graphic or visual communication design, or publishing. Specializations or certifications in related areas may also be considered acceptable qualifications.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in communication, outreach, or publication production. Candidates should have experience in coordinating with external design and print vendors, producing outreach content that aligns with institutional visual identities, and revising technical materials for non-technical readers. Experience in an international organization and familiarity with scientific or technical subject matter is considered an asset.

Languages:
Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official IAEA language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy offers a daily fee of up to a maximum of €250, depending on qualifications and experience. If duty travel is required, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs will be provided. Health coverage and pension fund responsibilities lie with the incumbent. The position may involve collaboration with various departments within the IAEA, and the Consultant will work under the supervision of the responsible officer in the IEC.
