Job Overview:
The Young Professionals Program (YPP) at the World Bank Group is designed for exceptional professionals who are eager to contribute to global development challenges. This program offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to apply their specialized technical expertise while gaining valuable experience across various sectors of the organization. Participants in the YPP will engage in a structured two-year program that includes three eight-month rotations, allowing them to work in their primary area of expertise, participate in cross-institutional projects, and gain field experience in country offices. This program not only aims to develop future leaders in global development but also emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and institutions to address pressing issues such as poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Young Professionals will also benefit from the YP Academy, which provides training in technical skills, leadership development, and other essential areas to enhance their professional growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The role within the Cloud Platform Engineering team involves supporting various key areas such as cloud governance, engineering, and optimization. Responsibilities include conducting research and analysis on emerging technologies, assisting senior architects in reviewing cloud platform patterns, and contributing to the prototyping of AI-assisted coding tools. The position requires participation in activities aligned with SAFe principles and platform engineering standards, with a focus on cloud application hosting and solution architecture. Young Professionals will also be responsible for documenting integration and observability patterns, preparing presentations and reports for leadership, and collaborating with product managers and external partners to support enterprise cloud initiatives. Additionally, the role includes collecting and summarizing feedback from users to improve cloud platforms and developer experience, as well as supporting testing and validation of cloud services and automation workflows.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a master's degree or PhD in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or AI. A strong foundation in platform engineering, cloud technologies, and AI concepts is essential. Applicants should have 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrated expertise in defining enterprise-scale multi-cloud reference architectures and operating at an enterprise scale. Hands-on programming experience in languages like Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript is required, along with a good understanding of software testing and reliability engineering principles. Familiarity with tools related to Agentic AI and AI-assisted coding is preferred, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and concisely.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a master's degree or PhD in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or AI. This advanced education is crucial for understanding the complex technical challenges and solutions that the role entails, particularly in the context of cloud platform engineering and AI technologies.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have between 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience.
