Job Overview: The Young Professionals Program (YPP) at the World Bank Group is designed for exceptional professionals who are eager to apply their specialized technical expertise to address pressing global development challenges. This program allows Young Professionals (YPs) to work across various institutions within the WBG, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). YPs are expected to demonstrate strong leadership potential and a commitment to the WBG's mission and values. The program consists of an initial two-year term contract, which is renewable based on performance. During this period, YPs will engage in three eight-month rotations, gaining experience in their primary area of expertise, participating in cross-institutional rotations, and working in country offices. The YP Academy provides structured learning and development opportunities, including technical training, language programs, and leadership development, ensuring that YPs are well-equipped to contribute to the WBG's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The selected candidate will support the Enterprise Architecture team in various activities, including research, documentation, analysis, and platform enhancement. Key responsibilities include conducting research on emerging technologies such as Agentic AI and AI-assisted coding, assisting in prototyping AI tools, documenting reusable architecture assets, and supporting knowledge management initiatives. The role also involves preparing presentations and reports for leadership and governance forums, assisting with architecture community activities, and supporting testing and feedback collection for EA platforms. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of reusable architecture artifacts and assist in the Application Rationalization Framework and technology portfolio assessments.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related field. Additionally, 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience is required. A foundational understanding of software engineering, cloud technologies, data management, and AI concepts is essential. Candidates should have hands-on programming experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript, and be capable of designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure and scalable software applications. Familiarity with software testing principles and practical exposure to Agentic AI and AI-assisted coding is preferred. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills are also necessary.
Educational Background: The position requires a minimum of a master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence.
