Job Overview:
The WBG Young Professionals Program (YPP) is designed for exceptional professionals from around the world who are eager to apply their specialized technical expertise to address pressing development challenges. As a Young Professional (YP), you will work across various institutions within the World Bank Group, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). The program is highly competitive and aims to develop future leaders in global development. YPs will engage in a structured learning and development journey, which includes technical training, leadership development, and mentorship opportunities. The role involves collaboration with colleagues across disciplines and institutions to improve lives globally, with a focus on digital access and infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Young Professional, you will support the Digital Access agenda by engaging in policy and regulatory discussions, forming innovative public-private partnerships, and providing technical assistance to expand affordable and inclusive connectivity solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the design and implementation of digital infrastructure projects, focusing on public-private partnerships and innovative financing mechanisms.
  • Conducting economic and analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis related to investment opportunities and assessing project viability.
  • Contributing to policy and regulatory reforms that enhance broadband adoption and market competition.
  • Developing innovative financing mechanisms for digital infrastructure investments.
  • Analyzing emerging technologies and business models to improve access in underserved areas.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including governments and private sector partners, to create integrated digital development solutions.
  • Producing analytical reports, project proposals, and knowledge products that capture lessons learned and support scaling successful approaches.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, engineering, telecommunications, public policy, or a closely related field. Additionally, applicants should have 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating a strong interest in development work and the mission of the World Bank Group. Candidates should exhibit strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, along with effective written and verbal communication abilities. The ability to work in diverse, team-based environments and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines is essential. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and fluency in additional languages is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
The position requires a minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, business administration, engineering, telecommunications, or public policy. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of development challenges and the analytical skills necessary for the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have between 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should include conducting quantitative, economic, financial, or policy analysis, which is essential for supporting the Digital Access agenda and contributing to the World Bank Group's mission. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in development work and the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.

Languages:
