Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the UNGDS team, the intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the visibility and effectiveness of the UNGDS initiatives. Key responsibilities include: assisting in the design and production of promotional and advertising materials for UNGDS initiatives and online auctions; supporting the development of communication content for digital channels, including social media posts, emails, visual materials, newsletters, and promotional campaigns; conducting outreach activities to engage new and potential buyers through social media platforms and other communication channels; promoting the UNGDS online auction platform to relevant audiences; assisting in preparing communication plans, campaign materials, and stakeholder messaging; monitoring engagement metrics from communication and social media activities and contributing to basic reporting and analysis; and supporting other communications and outreach-related activities as required by the UNGDS team. The intern's responsibilities may be adapted to align with their interests and the needs of the service, providing a tailored and enriching experience.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be recent graduates (having completed their studies within one year of applying) or current students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a university or higher education institution accredited by UNESCO. Additionally, candidates should have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant to the organization's work. It is important to note that candidates with immediate relatives working for UNHCR as staff members or as members of the Affiliate Workforce are not eligible for this internship. Furthermore, recruitment as a UNHCR staff member or engagement under a UNHCR affiliate scheme or as an intern requires proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, unless the candidate is based in a location with documented lack of access to vaccines.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a university program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the UNGDS initiatives and support the organization's communication efforts.

Experience:
The position is targeted at individuals who are either recent graduates or current students, thus the level of experience required is relatively low. However, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in marketing, communications, or a related field, and should be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Previous internships or volunteer experiences in similar roles would be advantageous but are not strictly required.

Languages:
Excellent oral and written English skills are mandatory for this position. Additionally, having a working knowledge of a second UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual environment.
