Job Overview:
The Software and Infrastructure Engineer position at CERN involves contributing to the development, deployment, and maintenance of the Open Research Europe publishing platform, which is based on Open Journal Systems (OJS). Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Software and Infrastructure Engineer include:

• Contributing to the development of the OJS application and its plugins, ensuring that integrations with external services are tested and functional.
• Assisting in the deployment and maintenance of the Open Research Europe infrastructure, utilizing Kubernetes/OpenShift and automated CI/CD workflows.
• Participating in system testing and performance checks to ensure the platform operates efficiently and effectively.
• Documenting procedures and providing day-to-day operational support to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Collaborating with the business and editorial operations team to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to the platform.
• Engaging in open-source projects related to OJS and contributing to the broader community of developers and users.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate experience in developing web applications, particularly with PHP and the Laravel stack. Familiarity with Open Journal Systems (OJS) source code, plugin systems, and workflows is a significant advantage. Additionally, experience with containerized infrastructure and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or OpenShift is essential. Experience:
