Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active undergraduate student for the position of Intern under the Consultant modality as part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program. This competitive paid internship is designed for university students from member countries to gain insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. Interns will acquire professional-level work experience through on-the-job learning, integrating and connecting various laboratory tools and systems, and developing clear documentation and tutorials for laboratory projects. The internship will also involve building demonstrations that showcase the synergy of multiple technologies, creating educational materials, and developing benchmarking frameworks to evaluate different technical approaches.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for integrating and connecting different laboratory tools and systems, developing clear documentation and tutorials for laboratory projects, and building demonstrations that showcase how multiple technologies work together. They will also be tasked with developing benchmarking frameworks to evaluate and compare different technical approaches, as well as creating educational materials to communicate the laboratory’s projects, tools, and results. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active undergraduate students enrolled in a Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related program from an accredited university. They should have a graduation date that falls after the internship period. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of an IDB member country and should not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest. This position is intended for first-time participants in the IDB Group's Internship Program, and applicants must not have been former staff members or contractors for the Bank or Corporation.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be an active undergraduate student in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Software Engineering. The educational institution must be accredited, and the candidate's graduation date should be after the internship period. It is also required that the second year of the undergraduate program is completed at the time of application.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of programming and technical skills relevant to the internship. While specific prior work experience is not mandated, familiarity with programming languages, version control systems, and problem-solving techniques is essential. The internship is designed for students who are eager to learn and apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and a working knowledge of one additional Bank language such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese is considered a plus. This requirement ensures effective communication within the diverse environment of the IDB Group.
