Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Technical Engineer include performing vacuum acceptance testing of components intended for installation in the HL-LHC collimator upgrade. The engineer will test and validate vacuum equipment prior to installation, conduct residual gas analysis (RGA) to ensure compliance with performance and quality standards, and carry out leak tests, bake-out system installations, and non-evaporable-getter (NEG) activation on vacuum components. Additionally, the engineer will assemble and prepare mechanical and vacuum systems for installation and operation, support the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment for the LHC upgrade program, and prepare technical documentation, test reports, and intervention records. Coordination with suppliers for the procurement and delivery of technical components is also a key responsibility, along with participation in maintenance, upgrade, and repair activities on equipment installed in the LHC tunnel.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical and Applied Studies or a related field. They should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation and must be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. Applicants without a university degree or those with a PhD are not eligible for this position. A commitment to learning and adapting to the requirements of the role is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical and Applied Studies or a closely related field. The contract duration for this position is 24 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 36 months.
