Job Overview:
The PLRCAP Project Technical Assistant (Admin & Comms) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth delivery of program activities by providing day-to-day administrative and operational support. This position involves coordinating logistics, procurement, scheduling, travel arrangements, and meetings, while also maintaining compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The assistant will support the management of the NGO Support Hub, which includes maintaining project plans, calendars, action trackers, and documentation to facilitate effective project delivery. Additionally, the role encompasses supporting content management and day-to-day platform administration, as well as creating, editing, and publishing engaging content across digital and social media channels. The assistant will promote learning resources, program achievements, and success stories to enhance outreach and stakeholder engagement. This position is based in Abuja, Nigeria, with up to 15% travel within the country, and is a national contract for six months, reporting to the PLRCAP Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the PLRCAP Project Technical Assistant (Admin & Comms) include:
  • Providing day-to-day administrative and operational support to the PLRCAP team, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating logistics, procurement, scheduling, travel arrangements, meetings, documentation, and other administrative requirements for program activities.
  • Supporting the management and maintenance of the NGO Support Hub, including maintaining project plans, calendars, action trackers, SharePoint records, and program documentation.
  • Assisting the Hub Administrator in content management and day-to-day platform administration.
  • Creating, editing, and publishing engaging content across digital and social media channels, including visual and multimedia content.
  • Promoting learning resources, program achievements, events, and success stories to strengthen outreach and stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitoring social media performance, audience engagement, and user feedback.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to support learning, knowledge sharing, and the successful implementation of PLRCAP activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Management, Social Sciences, Communications, or another relevant field. A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in administration, operations, communications, or project support and procurement, particularly within an international NGO or humanitarian/development organization, is required. Experience within NORCAP/NRC is considered an added advantage. Candidates should also have experience managing social media platforms, developing digital content, and using content management systems and analytics tools. Strong organizational, administrative, communication, and coordination skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with content creation and design tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop is required, along with experience in basic image or video editing being an advantage. Experience in localization, humanitarian action, crisis recovery, community resilience, or civil society capacity strengthening is highly desirable, and knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in Management, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of administration, operations, and communications within the context of humanitarian and development work.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in relevant fields such as administration, operations, communications, or project support and procurement. This experience should ideally be within an international NGO or humanitarian/development organization, with preference given to candidates who have worked with NORCAP or NRC. The candidate should demonstrate a solid understanding of the operational and administrative functions necessary to support program delivery effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. Knowledge of local languages is considered an advantage, as it may enhance communication and engagement with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is a national contract for six months and is exclusively open to Nigerian citizens holding a valid Nigerian passport. The role is full-time and based in Abuja, Nigeria, with up to 15% travel within the country. Candidates should be prepared for a full background check as part of the recruitment process, and an approved Health Certificate will be required prior to contract commencement.
