Job Overview:
The position of COORDINACIÓN DE CLIMA Y ECOSISTEMAS COSTEROS is crucial for coordinating the technical and operational implementation of the RE3CO initiative, which focuses on the restoration and conservation of coastal wetlands and community development. The coordinator will ensure compliance with work plans, timelines, indicators, and deliverables while working under the strategic direction of the Coastal Resilience Management. This role involves articulating work with internal teams, partners, consultancies, and other stakeholders, consolidating information for decision-making, and contributing to processes related to financial mechanisms and alliances for ecosystem restoration. The coordinator will translate strategic priorities into concrete actions and products, propose operational solutions, and channel decisions requiring strategic definition or institutional representation to management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the position include coordinating the technical and operational follow-up of the RE3CO initiative, integrating work plans, timelines, responsibilities, dependencies, and products, and ensuring timely follow-up on progress. The coordinator will manage and strengthen the project's monitoring system, which includes the theory of change, results framework, indicators, baselines, targets, verification means, and data collection and quality control tools. They will consolidate and analyze quantitative and qualitative information to identify progress, gaps, risks, and lessons learned, formulating practical recommendations for management decision-making. Additionally, the coordinator will maintain an organized and updated technical and operational memory of RE3CO, including agreements, methodologies, databases, evidence, document versions, products, and relevant decisions. They will coordinate the follow-up of commitments and deliverables with implementing partners, consultancies, internal teams, and allies, verifying quality, consistency, and compliance with deadlines. The role also involves preparing and consolidating technical and narrative reports for donors and institutional use, as well as executive presentations, briefs, concept notes, proposals, and other strategic materials. The coordinator will manage technical processes related to environmental financial mechanisms, particularly concerning mangrove management, including information systematization, meeting preparation, agreement follow-up, and articulation with relevant actors. They will also follow up on operational activities and commitments linked to AMERE, GMA, and the Mangrove Breakthrough, ensuring coherence with RE3CO and Coastal Management priorities. The coordinator will design and coordinate workshops, meetings, and participatory spaces, preparing methodologies and guiding questions, facilitating sessions, and documenting results, agreements, and next steps. Furthermore, they will conduct and coordinate analyses on mangrove restoration and other coastal ecosystems, nature-based solutions, climate resilience, governance, public policies, and financing mechanisms for conservation and restoration. Identifying operational risks, information needs, and bottlenecks will also be part of their responsibilities, as well as proposing viable alternatives and prioritizing actions. The coordinator will technically represent the project in meetings and workspaces and follow up on commitments derived from these interactions. They will collaborate in generating and developing technical proposals for the implementation of coastal-marine projects and coordinate logistical processes for meetings, including administrative aspects. Finally, the coordinator will assist in supervising projects in the field, which includes field visits in diverse contexts and engaging with governmental, private sector, and civil society actors.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, biology, ecology, oceanography, marine sciences, geography, environmental engineering, natural resource management, sustainable development, international relations, or related fields. A postgraduate degree or additional training in ecological restoration, coastal ecosystems, climate change, project management, monitoring and evaluation, sustainable finance, or related topics is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in relevant languages and possess at least three years of professional experience in coordinating or following up on environmental, conservation, restoration, climate resilience, or sustainable development projects. Proven experience in building and monitoring indicators, integrating and analyzing information, coordinating actors, preparing reports, and following up on deliverables is essential. Experience in mangrove restoration or coastal ecosystem management, international cooperation, and environmental financing mechanisms will be valued. Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally is also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as environmental sciences, biology, ecology, oceanography, marine sciences, geography, environmental engineering, natural resource management, sustainable development, international relations, or similar disciplines. A postgraduate degree or complementary training in ecological restoration, coastal ecosystems, climate change, project management, monitoring and evaluation, sustainable finance, or related areas is highly desirable.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in coordinating or following up on projects related to environmental conservation, restoration, climate resilience, or sustainable development. Candidates should have demonstrable experience in constructing and monitoring indicators, integrating and analyzing information, coordinating stakeholders, preparing reports, and ensuring the timely delivery of project outputs. Experience in mangrove restoration or coastal ecosystem management, international cooperation, and environmental financing mechanisms will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Proficiency in relevant languages is mandatory, with a strong emphasis on Spanish. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered beneficial, particularly in the context of international collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholders.
