Job Overview: The position of Adjoint(e) à la logistique at WFP involves providing specialized support and supervision to ensure the effective implementation of logistics and supply chain procedures. The role is critical in facilitating the timely delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries, coordinating procurement requests, and managing logistics service providers. The Adjoint(e) à la logistique will also play a key role in supporting emergency preparedness and response activities, ensuring that logistical capabilities are in place to respond effectively to crises. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide specialized support to logistics operations and activities, ensuring adherence to standard procedures and contributing to the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries.
Coordinate procurement requests and ensure timely delivery of products and supplies to authorized partners and designated sites.
Manage contractual activities with logistics service providers, including performance monitoring and evaluation.
Assist in gathering commercial information and evaluating suppliers (transporters, traders, etc.) to facilitate their selection.
Record technical requests and inquiries, respond to them, and/or make recommendations, demonstrating initiative and following standard procedures to ensure prompt and accurate processing of all information requests with a strong customer service focus.
Establish, monitor, and revise budgets for all execution modalities, ensuring compliance with applicable procedures according to institutional standards.
Supervise stock management operations to analyze trends and report on stock status from source to beneficiary.
Assist in quality control and integrity of product accounting data.
Analyze operational supply chain and contribute to assessments and planning for all execution modalities to ensure supply chain requirements are met. 1
Manage documentation related to logistics operations (customs clearance, invoice verification), taking necessary actions to resolve operational issues and escalate complex problems to the supervisor. 1
Conduct research, collect data, perform analyses, and prepare reports (product committee reports, transport and insurance reports, standardized project reports, financial closure reports, physical inventory reports, transport performance reports, etc.) ensuring accuracy of information in internal systems to facilitate informed decision-making. 1
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to assist in managing logistics operations and contribute to effective service delivery. 1
Supervise support staff and provide practical guidance and direction to ensure that individual and collective objectives are met in accordance with agreed standards and timelines for all assistance modalities. 1
Support logistics activities related to emergency preparedness and crisis response, including updating logistics capacity assessments and emergency plans to enhance WFP's response in emergencies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a secondary school diploma (Bac) as a minimum educational requirement. A post-secondary certification in a relevant functional area is desirable.
