Job Overview: The CCAC Programme Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and delivering high-quality results for CCAC programmes, projects, or workstreams. This position requires the selected candidate to coordinate with various stakeholders, including governments and partner organizations, to ensure that the initiatives align with CCAC priorities and meet the needs of partners. The specialist will be responsible for preparing and quality-assuring substantive products, monitoring project delivery and associated risks, and connecting the assigned portfolio with relevant functions and expertise across the CCAC Secretariat. The role involves developing clear work plans, schedules, and budgets, as well as facilitating meetings and consultations to advance the coalition's objectives. The CCAC Programme Specialist will also contribute to improving systems and processes within the Secretariat, ensuring that the work is coherent and strategically aligned with the coalition's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the CCAC Programme Specialist include:
Providing specialist advice to plan, manage, and deliver assigned CCAC programmes, projects, workstreams, or partnership activities.
Developing and maintaining clear work plans, schedules, scopes, budgets, implementation arrangements, risk registers, and other management tools.
Coordinating with governments, partner organizations, implementers, experts, and internal contributors to ensure timely and coherent delivery of projects.
Reviewing and quality-assuring project, technical, policy, communication, or knowledge outputs to ensure alignment with agreed objectives and standards.
Monitoring progress, results, risks, and lessons learned; maintaining complete documentation; and preparing concise internal, governance, partner, or donor reporting.
Organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, and consultations, and representing the CCAC in external engagements within the assigned portfolio.
Connecting delivery across relevant Secretariat functions and mobilizing the expertise and contributions needed for shared priorities.
Improving systems, guidance, and ways of working, and providing practical advice to colleagues and partners within the consultant's area of responsibility. 1
Providing ad hoc support as part of the CCAC Secretariat team. Performance indicators for this role include the timely delivery of assigned work areas against agreed objectives, the quality of substantive products, effective coordination among stakeholders, and the advancement of CCAC priorities.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the CCAC Programme Specialist position include: - An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in environmental science, engineering, international relations, public policy, development studies, programme or project management, communications, or another relevant field. - A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. - A minimum of 5 years of direct professional experience in climate change and air pollution is required. - Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), including their links to climate change, air pollution, and sustainable development, is essential. - Experience working in multi-stakeholder partnerships and coordinating with different organizations or stakeholder groups is required. - Experience in preparing clear written products, maintaining programme information, and supporting the delivery of multiple concurrent activities is necessary. - Experience working in an international or developing-country context is desirable.

Languages: Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required for this position. Additional knowledge of other UN official languages is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders across different regions.
