Job Overview: The Fundraising Specialist position at UNICEF Ecuador is pivotal in leading the private sector fundraising strategy. Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Private Sector Fundraising Team, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
Develop and implement the Private Sector Plan for the country office, setting clear goals and strategies to achieve them.
Acquire, cultivate, and retain individual donors and supporters through targeted engagement strategies.
Establish and manage meaningful partnerships with businesses and key influencers in the private sector.
Conduct fundraising analysis to identify growth opportunities and assess fundraising performance.
Develop and implement effective donor acquisition strategies to enhance fundraising efforts.
Strengthen individual donor retention through tailored communication and engagement initiatives.
Provide strategic leadership across various fundraising channels and partnership activities.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with private sector partners, donors, and businesses to foster collaboration and support for UNICEF's mission.
Required Qualifications:
A completed advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management, or a relevant technical field.
A minimum of five years of professional experience in private sector fundraising, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
Familiarity with the private sector and previous managerial experience are essential.
Demonstrated experience in supervising teams and managing fundraising initiatives.
Proven track record in developing and implementing comprehensive private sector plans aligned with organizational priorities.
Expertise in conducting fundraising analysis and identifying growth opportunities.
Strong capability in developing effective donor acquisition strategies and enhancing donor retention.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, or Management. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of fundraising and partnership development in the private sector.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in private sector fundraising, with a focus on progressively increasing responsibilities. Candidates should have direct experience in setting and meeting income targets, as well as familiarity with the private sector landscape. Previous managerial experience is essential to lead the fundraising team effectively.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, or Russian) is desirable and can enhance a candidate's profile. International fundraising experience and relevant marketing experience are considered assets.
