Job Overview: The Senior Audiovisual Communications Associate will play a crucial role in supporting brand compliance and the production of audiovisual and graphic content that aligns with the IOM's communications objectives. This position involves contributing to the development and implementation of multimedia activities that enhance visibility and engagement across both digital and traditional platforms. The incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the Regional Director and the direct supervision of the Senior Regional Media and Communications Officer. The role requires a combination of technical expertise in multimedia production, creativity in content creation, and collaboration with the communications team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality multimedia content.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Audiovisual Communications Associate include supporting the application of IOM branding guidelines and visual identity standards in audiovisual and graphic outputs, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and overall quality across all multimedia products. The incumbent will capture photographs and video footage for campaigns, events, and field activities, edit videos for various platforms, and support the preparation of infographics and visual assets for digital and print channels. Additionally, the role involves operating photography and videography equipment, using industry-standard software for multimedia content preparation, staying updated on emerging trends in digital storytelling, and providing technical support and training to staff on audiovisual best practices. Other related duties may be assigned to support the communications activities of the Regional Office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Multimedia Design, Graphic Arts, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, along with five years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a high school diploma with seven years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. The position requires strong creative and technical skills in multimedia production, the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Multimedia Design, Graphic Arts, or a related field from an accredited institution. Candidates with a high school diploma may also apply if they have seven years of relevant professional experience. It is essential that the educational qualifications are from accredited universities recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have experience in photography, videography, and video editing specifically for institutional or corporate communications. Demonstrated experience in producing infographics and other graphic design outputs is essential. Familiarity with social media platforms and the optimization of multimedia content for digital channels is also required. Experience working with UN or NGO organizations and knowledge in the field of migration would be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish) is mandatory for all IOM staff members. For this position, fluency in both English and Arabic is required, both oral and written. Knowledge of French would be an advantage. The proficiency of the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: The selection process for this vacancy is subject to funding confirmation, and any offer made to the candidate will depend on this.
