Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active graduate student for a paid internship opportunity as a Data Analyst in Portfolio Management. This internship is part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program, which is designed for university students to gain insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. The intern will engage in hands-on learning experiences, contributing to the development of data-driven solutions aimed at enhancing portfolio monitoring and efficiency. The role involves reviewing and improving existing Power BI and Tableau dashboards, supporting the integration of key data sources, and maintaining centralized portfolio monitoring dashboards that consolidate various performance metrics. The intern will also assist in mapping portfolio management processes to identify areas for improvement, thereby playing a crucial role in the organization's data management efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
  • Reviewing and enhancing Power BI and Tableau dashboards to ensure they effectively provide visibility into portfolio quality and trends.
  • Supporting the identification, mapping, and integration of essential data sources to improve data accessibility, extraction, and validation processes.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of centralized dashboards that consolidate portfolio performance, compliance, and operational metrics.
  • Mapping key portfolio management processes to identify opportunities for improvement and streamline operations.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure that data-driven solutions align with organizational goals and enhance overall efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • Must be an active graduate student enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program in computer science, data science, industrial engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Graduation date must be after the internship period to ensure availability for the full duration of the internship.
  • Candidates should possess fluency in English, with a working knowledge of at least one additional Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) considered a plus.
  • Strong soft skills are essential, including being result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, and possessing excellent communication skills.
  • Technical skills should include the ability to work with multiple data sources and large datasets, as well as proficiency in Advanced Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables) and SQL for data extraction and manipulation. Experience in dashboard design and KPI development is desirable, particularly with Power BI and/or Tableau.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being an active graduate student in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, or industrial engineering. Candidates must be enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program at the time of application, with a minimum of 50% of coursework completed. The graduation date should be scheduled after the internship period to ensure that the candidate can commit to the full duration of the internship.

Experience:
This internship is designed for candidates who are first-time participants in an internship program with the IDB Group. Therefore, prior experience in a similar role is not required, but candidates should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and adapt to a professional environment. The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with data analysis and management, as well as experience working with data visualization tools, although this is not mandatory.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, and candidates with a working knowledge of one additional Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) will have an advantage.
