Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active graduate student for the position of intern under the Consultant modality as part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program. This competitive paid opportunity is based at the IDB Headquarters and is designed for university students to gain insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. Interns will acquire professional-level work experience through on-the-job learning, focusing on business development efforts, market intelligence activities, and cross-department collaboration. The role emphasizes the importance of staying updated on business dynamics in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region and sharing relevant market intelligence with the team, thereby contributing to informed decision-making processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for assisting in targeting business development efforts by conducting thorough research and analyzing industry trends. Key duties include conducting market intelligence activities, which involve gathering and assessing financial statements for various projects within the RID region, including Mexico, Central America, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. The intern will also analyze data to generate market and client insights that support decision-making processes. Collaboration is essential, as the intern will work with various IDB Invest departments, including Industries, Risk, and Portfolio Supervision, as well as other IDB departments involved in initiatives like 'América en el Centro.' Knowledge sharing is a critical aspect of the role, requiring the intern to stay informed about business dynamics in the LAC region and communicate relevant insights to the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active graduate students enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program in fields such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, International Development, or other relevant areas from an accredited university. The graduation date must be after the internship period. Additionally, candidates must not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest, and this must be their first internship with the IDB Group. Applicants must also have completed at least 50% of their coursework by the time of application and must submit the required documentation, including a resume, academic transcripts, and a university letter certifying their student status.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be active graduate students in relevant fields such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or International Development. The educational institution must be accredited, and candidates must ensure that their graduation date is set for after the internship period. A minimum of 50% of coursework must be completed at the time of application, and all academic documentation must be current, issued within the last three months.

Experience:
The internship is designed for graduate students, so prior professional experience is not mandatory. However, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant fields and possess skills in econometrics, statistical analysis, data management, and analytics. Languages:
