Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active graduate student for an internship under the Consultant modality as part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program. This competitive paid opportunity is based at the IDB Headquarters and is designed for university students to gain insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. Interns will acquire professional-level work experience through on-the-job learning, focusing on market and sector research across various corporate subsectors such as agribusiness, mining, tourism, manufacturing, and digital infrastructure. The internship aims to develop sector-level pitchbooks and presentation materials that support strategic discussions and client engagements, while also preparing analytical inputs for internal knowledge-sharing and strategic planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for conducting comprehensive market and sector research across multiple corporate subsectors. They will develop sector-level pitchbooks and presentation materials to facilitate strategic discussions and client-facing engagements. Additionally, interns will support the benchmarking of companies, markets, risks, and opportunities across sectors. They will prepare concise analytical inputs for internal knowledge-sharing and strategic planning, and assist with materials and coordination for internal meetings, sector initiatives, and knowledge-sharing activities. This role requires a proactive approach to learning and collaboration, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active graduate students enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program in fields such as computer science, data science, industrial engineering, or similar disciplines from an accredited university. The graduation date must be after the internship period. Candidates should possess fluency in English, with a working knowledge of one additional Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) being advantageous. Soft skills such as being result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, and possessing strong communication abilities are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and excellent time management skills. Technical skills required include the ability to work with multiple data sources and large datasets, as well as desirable knowledge in Advanced Excel, SQL, dashboard design, and KPI development.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be active graduate students, meaning they must be enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program at the time of application. It is essential that at least 50% of their coursework is completed when applying. The graduation date must be scheduled after the internship period, ensuring that candidates are available for the full duration of the internship.

Experience:
This internship is designed for first-time participants in an Internship Program held by the IDB or IDB Invest. Candidates should not have prior experience as staff members, contractors, or service providers for the Bank or the Corporation. The focus is on providing an opportunity for students to gain their first professional experience in a development finance context.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and candidates with a working knowledge of one additional Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) will have an advantage in the selection process. This requirement emphasizes the importance of effective communication in a multilingual environment.

• The contract type is Intern Consultant, with a duration of two months.
