Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active graduate student for a paid internship opportunity within the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP). This internship is designed for university students from member countries to gain insights into development work and corporate management while acquiring professional experience through hands-on learning. The intern will support the QAIP by monitoring and reviewing the internal audit function's adherence to Global Internal Audit Standards and internal methodologies. The role involves assisting with quality reviews, evaluating risk assessments, and ensuring that audit documentation is complete and well-supported. The intern will also contribute to data analytics efforts and help improve QA oversight, translating insights into updated guidance and training materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's primary responsibilities will include supporting the QAIP through ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews of the internal audit function. This includes assisting with quality reviews during the planning phase, focusing on risk assessments and their alignment with engagement objectives. The intern will review fieldwork documentation to ensure completeness and traceability of audit observations. Additionally, the intern will monitor the implementation of management action plans, track their status, and confirm that evidence adequately addresses findings. The role will also involve applying data analytics to enhance QA oversight and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the audit function.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active graduate students enrolled in Auditing, Accounting, Risk Management, or related fields at an accredited university. The graduation date should be after the internship period. Applicants must be nationals of an IDB member country and should not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest. This internship is intended for first-time participants in IDB's Internship Program, and candidates should not have previous employment with the IDB Group or its affiliates.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a graduate program (master’s or Ph.D.) or an undergraduate program (bachelor’s) at the time of application. For graduate students, a minimum of 50% of coursework must be completed. Academic transcripts and a university letter certifying student status must be submitted with the application, and these documents should be issued within the last three months.

Experience:
The internship is designed for students who are actively pursuing their degrees and do not require extensive prior work experience. However, familiarity with audit processes, risk assessment, and data analytics tools will be beneficial. The intern should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the professional environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and a working knowledge of one additional Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is considered a plus. This multilingual capability will enhance communication and collaboration within the diverse IDB Group environment.
