Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active graduate student for the Energy Economics Data Analysis Internship, which is a competitive paid opportunity designed for university students from member countries. This internship will provide participants with valuable insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank, allowing them to gain professional experience through on-the-job learning. Interns will be expected to perform data collection and analysis on specific topics, review literature, prepare reports, conduct econometric and statistical analyses, and support the development of ad hoc analyses related to infrastructure and energy issues. Additionally, interns will synthesize research findings and translate them into policy implications and best practices, contributing to the Bank's mission of improving lives in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: performing data collection and analysis on specific topics relevant to energy economics; reviewing existing literature and preparing comprehensive reports as required; conducting econometric and statistical analyses to support the Bank's initiatives; assisting in the development of ad hoc analyses focused on infrastructure and energy issues; synthesizing research findings and translating them into actionable policy implications and best practices; collaborating with other team members to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing; and participating in meetings and discussions to contribute to the overall objectives of the internship program.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet several qualifications to be considered for this internship. They must be active graduate students enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program in economics, public policy, energy economics, resource economics, or a related field from an accredited university. The graduation date must be after the internship period. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of an IDB member country and must not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest. This internship is intended for first-time participants in the IDB Group's Internship Program, and candidates should not have been former staff members or contractors for the Bank or Corporation.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being an active graduate student in a relevant field such as economics, public policy, energy economics, or resource economics. Candidates must be enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program at an accredited university, and they should have completed at least 50% of their coursework by the time of application. The graduation date must be set after the internship period to ensure that candidates are still students during the internship.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a strong background in econometrics, mathematics, and statistics, as these skills are essential for performing the required analyses during the internship. While prior internship experience is not explicitly required, familiarity with the energy sector and relevant analytical tools will be advantageous. The internship is designed for graduate students, so candidates are expected to have some level of academic and practical experience in their field of study.
