Job Overview:
The IDB Group is seeking an active graduate student for a paid internship opportunity under the Consultant modality. This internship is part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program, which is designed for university students from member countries to gain insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. Interns will have the chance to acquire professional-level work experience through on-the-job learning, focusing on the mobilization of private capital for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. The role involves supporting the identification and development of strategic partnerships, evaluating existing partnerships, conducting market research, and assisting in the management of new partnerships with public and private sector players. Interns will also engage in communication activities, including content creation for various platforms and supporting event preparations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: identifying and developing strategic partnerships to mobilize private capital for the SDGs; evaluating existing partnerships to enhance their impact on IDB Group projects; conducting research and analysis related to new financial instruments; performing market research and data analysis on partnership opportunities in IDB member countries; assisting in the management and development of partnerships with public and private sector players; conducting risk analysis for the IDB’s due diligence process; developing materials for events and presentations; supporting the preparation of events, internal meetings, and workshops; and contributing to communication activities such as publications, intranet content, and social media posts. Additional tasks may be assigned by the internship supervisor as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be nationals of an IDB member country and actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program as of the internship's starting date. The graduation date must be after the internship period. Applicants should not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest and must be first-time participants in the IDB Group's Internship Program. Additionally, candidates must possess strong communication skills, be result-driven, collaborative, innovative, and self-motivated, with excellent time management abilities. Technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Bloomberg Market Concepts are also required.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be an active graduate student in fields such as Finance, Business Administration, Economics, International Development, Public Policy, or a related area from an accredited university. It is essential that at least 50% of the coursework is completed by the time of application, and candidates must submit their academic transcripts and a university letter certifying their student status when applying.

Experience:
This internship is targeted at graduate students, and as such, candidates are expected to have some relevant academic experience in their field of study. Previous internships or work experience in finance, development, or related sectors would be beneficial but are not mandatory. The focus is on candidates who are eager to learn and grow within the organization.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and a working knowledge of one additional Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is considered a plus. This multilingual capability will enhance the intern's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the IDB Group's mission effectively.
