Job Overview:

This internship is part of the 2027 Winter Internship Program, which is a competitive, paid opportunity designed for university students from member countries. The program aims to provide participants with insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank, allowing them to gain professional experience through on-the-job learning. Interns will engage in various tasks, including conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda, and supporting attorneys in providing legal advice on institutional, financial, and operational matters. This role is crucial for those looking to understand the intersection of law and development in a multinational context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for conducting thorough legal research and analysis, drafting legal memoranda, and supporting attorneys in providing legal advice on the Bank’s institutional, financial, and operational matters. They will also draft, review, and edit project documentation, including loan and technical cooperation agreements. Additionally, interns will coordinate with external law firms and review their legal advice, ensuring that all legal documentation meets the required standards and aligns with the Bank's objectives. This position requires a proactive approach to learning and collaboration, as interns will work closely with various teams within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active graduate students enrolled in a master's or doctoral program in Law, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field at an accredited university. The expected graduation date must be after the internship period. Candidates should possess strong analytical and legal drafting skills, knowledge of either Common Law or Civil Law legal systems, and familiarity with administrative law, contracts, and corporate financial matters is desirable. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of an IDB member country and should not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be active graduate students pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in relevant fields such as Law, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Relations, or Political Science. Candidates must be enrolled in their program as of the starting date of the internship and should have completed at least 50% of their coursework by the time of application. The graduation date must be after the internship period, ensuring that candidates are still active students throughout the internship.

Experience:
This internship is designed for first-time participants in an Internship Program held by the IDB or IDB Invest. Candidates should not have previous experience as staff members, contractors, or service providers for the Bank or the Corporation. Languages:
