Job Overview:
The Analyst (GEOINT Data) position is situated within the Operations Directorate, specifically in the J2 Division, which provides intelligence support for NATO operations. The role involves analyzing geospatial data to generate actionable intelligence and enhance situational awareness. The incumbent will work with various military and intelligence personnel to ensure the availability and accuracy of geospatial information. The position requires the development of AI models for data analysis and the provision of training and technical guidance to users. The Analyst will also be part of the GEOINT/IMINT working group, contributing to the overall intelligence support for NATO operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent's duties include collecting geo-located information from military and open-source data, analyzing and extracting information from unstructured documents, and working with the Staff Assistant to ensure geospatial information availability. The Analyst will collaborate with intelligence analysts and planners to support operations, develop AI models for data analysis, and provide training and documentation to users. Additional responsibilities may include performing similar duties elsewhere within the organization, undertaking temporary duty assignments, and being willing to work unsocial hours or deploy in support of military operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in geography, computer science, cartography, or a related discipline, along with at least two years of function-related experience. Alternatively, candidates with higher secondary education and advanced vocational training in the relevant field must have four years of post-related experience. Strong knowledge of GIS, particularly ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine, is essential, along with a solid foundation in cartography, geodesy, AI technology, and programming for automated data analysis. Familiarity with military intelligence workflows and experience with ArcGIS Online or Enterprise solutions are also required.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as geography, computer science, or cartography is required. Candidates with higher secondary education and advanced vocational training leading to professional accreditation may also qualify if they have sufficient post-related experience. The educational background should provide a strong foundation for understanding geospatial analysis and data management.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of four years of experience as a geospatial analyst within a military organization, along with at least two years of experience as a geospatial data manager. This experience should include strong knowledge of GIS systems, familiarity with military intelligence workflows, and practical experience in data processing and analysis using programming languages such as Python or R.

Languages:

• The basic entry-level monthly salary for a NATO Grade 15 (A-2) in Italy is Euro 5,879.80, which may be supplemented by allowances based on eligibility.
