Job Overview:
The IM and Data Analysis Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) Coordination Analyst. This role is critical in providing technical support to the humanitarian portfolio of the UN Women Ukraine Country Office. The specialist will be responsible for secondary data planning, collection, processing, and analysis, as well as data visualization and knowledge product development. The position aims to enable evidence-based programming and effective communication and advocacy efforts. The specialist will also participate in regular Data Working Group meetings and contribute insights from a gender perspective, ensuring that the needs and rights of women and girls are prioritized in humanitarian responses. This role requires a strong understanding of data analysis methodologies and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and advocacy efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Secondary Data Planning, Collection, Processing and Analysis Support: Design and implement primary data collection and analysis as required; conduct secondary data analysis from various humanitarian assessments; extract and interpret sex, age, and disability-disaggregated data; identify data gaps and recommend primary data collection; leverage AI-assisted tools for data synthesis; produce analytical briefs tailored to specific needs.
• Data Visualization and Communication: Design infographics and dashboards; create presentations for advocacy and donor engagement; develop interactive visualizations for web platforms; ensure adherence to branding guidelines and accessibility standards.
• Knowledge Product Development: Produce data-driven briefs and thematic reports; develop visual case studies; create snapshot products for rapid dissemination; enhance readability and usability of analytical products.
• Technical Advisory Services: Support quality assurance of data analysis; develop standard operating procedures for data requests and analysis.
• Capacity Building: Support development of AI literacy for data analysis; create guidance materials to strengthen information management capacity; document lessons learned in data utilization.
• Coordination: Represent the GiHA Working Group in the Data Coordination Group; support monitoring processes with quantitative data analysis; collaborate on joint initiatives in humanitarian coordination.
• Management of CO Humanitarian Programme Database: Assist in developing a structured database of relevant programme documents.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires an advanced university degree in statistics, information management, data science, econometrics, GIS, or a directly relevant field. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in information management or data analysis, with demonstrated expertise in secondary data analysis methodologies and statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, or R. Strong data visualization skills and experience in data management and sharing to support organizational learning and advocacy are essential. Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for document review and synthesis is an asset, as is experience producing knowledge products for diverse audiences. Desirable qualifications include experience in humanitarian contexts, working with the UN, knowledge of common humanitarian datasets, and expertise in data visualization software like Power BI or Tableau.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as statistics, information management, data science, econometrics, or GIS. This educational background is crucial for understanding complex data analysis methodologies and for effectively contributing to the organization's goals in gender equality and humanitarian response.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in information management or data analysis is required. Candidates should have a proven track record in secondary data analysis methodologies and statistical software. Experience in data visualization, data management, and the use of AI-assisted tools for analysis is highly desirable. Familiarity with the humanitarian program cycle and coordination architecture in Ukraine is an asset, as is experience working with gender-disaggregated data and intersectional analysis frameworks.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English and Ukrainian is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of working with diverse stakeholders and communities in humanitarian settings.
