Job Overview: The Senior Programme Associate (Climate Analytics) position at WFP is crucial for supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia in enhancing national systems for disaster risk management, shock-responsive social protection, and disaster risk financing. Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Programme Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Climate and Disaster Risk Analytics: Contributing to the analysis of climate and disaster risks, vulnerability, food security, and nutrition to support evidence-based decision-making. Supporting the integration and interpretation of climate and disaster risk analyses for preparedness planning and emergency response. Assisting in the development and monitoring of thresholds and decision-support indicators for early warning systems.
Assessments, Monitoring, and Information Management: Developing and enhancing analytical methods and tools for climate risk monitoring, post-disaster impact assessments, and vulnerability analyses. Supporting quantitative and qualitative methods to ensure analytical rigor and quality assurance across analytical products. Providing analytical support during emergencies, including rapid impact analysis and situation reporting.
Capacity Strengthening and Institutional Support: Assisting in strengthening government capacities for post-disaster data collection and analysis. Providing technical support to government counterparts to translate climatic disaster risk information into operational plans.
Reporting, Knowledge Management, and Communication: Preparing analytical reports, dashboards, and other information products to support decision-making. Documenting program activities and results for donor reporting and knowledge management.
Innovation and Other Duties: Promoting innovative approaches and technologies for data collection and analysis. Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in areas such as climate risk analysis, disaster risk management, food security analysis, or related fields.
