Job Overview: The Consultant - HR Technology and Analytics (SAS team) position at WFP is designed to provide operational payroll support while contributing to the successful implementation of the One Payroll Programme. This role is crucial for maintaining business continuity and supporting system readiness, business process harmonization, and the delivery of payroll transformation activities across WFP. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Head of Payroll, Time and Audit Systems, engaging in various tasks that include drafting and validating business requirements, performing testing activities for system enhancements, and developing user documentation and training materials. The position is integral to the HR Technology and Analytics Branch, which serves as the digital backbone of the Human Resources Division, delivering standardized business processes and enterprise HR technologies that support the full employee lifecycle across WFP.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Consultant include:
Drafting and validating business requirements focusing on HR and payroll systems integration, ensuring cross-functional alignment and stakeholder engagement.
Performing testing activities for system enhancements and releases, ensuring that solutions meet business requirements and quality standards before deployment.
Conducting testing and impact analysis on payroll integrations, reports, and interfaces as necessary.
Developing and delivering user documentation, guidelines, training materials, and knowledge-sharing activities related to time and benefits management processes and systems.
Monitoring integration errors and contributing to data alignment for operational excellence by liaising with users and providing corrective guidance.
Acting as a subject matter expert on WFP HR rules, regulations, and procedures governing WINGS Payroll related processes and their applications in WFP HR systems (Workday, SAP).
Monitoring and following up on incoming queries/issues related to SAP Payroll in WFP HR systems through dedicated ticketing systems.
Providing guidance to HR users on the correct use of HR systems for SAP Payroll related processes.
Responding to queries/issues received, ensuring resolution in compliance with relevant processes and procedures and full auditability. 1
Supporting other SAS streams as necessary. 1
Contributing to the implementation of One Payroll and other payroll transformation initiatives by supporting business analysis, requirements gathering, and process design activities across core HR and payroll processes. 1
Preparing and executing integration testing, validating business scenarios, documenting testing outcomes, and ensuring solutions meet functional and operational requirements prior to deployment. 1
Supporting cutover and go-live activities, including business readiness assessments, issue resolution, payroll validation exercises, and post-deployment stabilization activities. 1
Assisting in payroll parallel runs, reconciliation activities, and validation of payroll outputs during implementation phases to ensure accuracy and compliance. 1
Contributing to change management and adoption activities by supporting stakeholder engagement, preparing user communications, developing guidance materials, and delivering knowledge-transfer and training initiatives.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, computer engineering, or a related field. Candidates should possess one to two years of progressively responsible work experience in general administrative work, including at least one year in human resources within an international context. Experience in HR systems administration and support is considered an advantage. Knowledge of UN business processes, practices, and procedures is essential, along with the ability to interpret HR rules, regulations, and data. Previous experience in HR Operations and working with SAP HR modules and Workday is an asset. Candidates should also have experience in customer service support, good analytical and computer skills (advanced level of Excel is an asset), and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, computer engineering, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of HR systems and the analytical skills required for the role.
Experience: The position requires one to two years of progressively responsible work experience in general administrative work, with at least one year specifically in human resources in an international context. Experience in HR systems administration and support is advantageous, as is familiarity with UN business processes and practices.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory, and an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an asset. This linguistic capability is important for effective communication within the diverse environment of the UN.
Additional Notes: This position is a short-term monthly contract, with a duration from September 2026 through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
