Job Overview:
The National Consultants/Trainers on Gender Equality Issues will play a crucial role in enhancing the understanding of gender diversity among various stakeholders, including state agencies, local communities, private sector entities, and non-governmental organizations. The consultants will be responsible for developing training modules or utilizing existing ones provided by UN Women to conduct trainings across Georgia on topics related to gender equality and women's empowerment. The training will cover a wide range of subjects, including the underlying causes of gender inequality, legal frameworks supporting women's rights, the Women, Peace and Security agenda, women's economic empowerment, and strategies to combat violence against women. The consultants will work closely with UN Women staff to tailor the training content to the needs of different target audiences, ensuring that the training is relevant and impactful. The position requires a commitment to fostering gender equality and empowering women through education and training.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The national consultant will be responsible for several key tasks, including: learning and adapting existing UN Women training modules on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment; designing new training modules tailored to different target groups; conducting a series of trainings on gender equality and women’s empowerment for participants from various stakeholder groups in urban and rural locations across Georgia; conducting awareness-raising activities on gender equality; developing a detailed work plan for the assignment; producing a training needs assessment questionnaire and conducting assessments of training participants; creating detailed agendas, modules, presentations, and training materials; designing and implementing pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge and skills; drafting and submitting final training reports with recommendations for follow-up actions; reviewing existing policies and identifying gaps and best practices; and conducting policy analysis to produce knowledge products with actionable guidance for strengthening national policies related to gender equality.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a university degree (Master’s) in gender/women’s studies, human rights, sociology, law, international development, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, or human rights, combined with two additional years of relevant working experience, may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree. Candidates must have at least five years of relevant professional experience in gender equality and women's rights, as well as experience delivering trainings on gender issues to various stakeholders. Proven experience in developing training manuals and a sound understanding of interactive learning methods and adult-learning techniques are also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree, preferably a Master’s degree in gender/women’s studies, human rights, sociology, law, international development, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, or human rights may be acceptable if accompanied by additional relevant work experience.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the field of gender equality and women's rights. If the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of seven years of experience is required. Experience in delivering trainings on gender issues to government officials, civil society, private sector companies, or grassroots communities is essential, along with experience in developing training manuals and programs.

Languages:
Fluency in Georgian is mandatory, and a good knowledge of English is required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is home-based, but it may require travel to various regions of Georgia, with up to 20 trips anticipated during the contract period.
